Welcome To UNITY

to discuss the world's vital issues.
Aspire

The mission of Aspire is to increase the aspiration of economically disadvantaged low income students and their parents to successfully complete the college search, application, and transition process. This initiative will utilize a hands-on approach to increase the aspiration of these students to successfully graduate from high school and enroll in a post secondary institution.

What is the responsibility of an Aspire volunteer?
Aspire volunteers will be asked to share the highlights of their collegiate experience while providing peer instruction on the college search, application, and transition process. Volunteers will also be asked to participate in online chat sessions to enhance the students' learning experience. Additionally, several volunteers will be asked to attend the regional college tour at the end of the pilot year.

Will transportation be provided?
Yes, transportation to and from the service site will be provided for Aspire volunteers.

How much time do I need to commit?
Due to the need for consistency in mentoring relationships we ask for a minimum year commitment to Aspire. During the pilot year we will be traveling to Hamilton Local High School three times and will conduct two online chat sessions. Each in-school session will require a minimum three hour time commitment during the hours of 9:00 am 12:00 pm and a minimum time commitment of an hour for the online chat sessions.

How do I become involved?
If you are interested in becoming an Aspire volunteer, you can fill out the online application. You can also print the application if you would rather not use the online application. All applications are due by January 19th. If you have any questions please contact UNITY.
